Nanjing GS-mach Extrusion Equipment Co., Ltd. As a factory established in 2003, GS-mach has been devoted to the manufacture of the plastic machine including twin screw extruders, kneader(Banbury), biodegradable products production lines, plastic sheet making machine, etc. And today I am going to share with you a machine case from one customer.

The customer is from Thailand into a rubber related business, and now they want to add some plastic materials into their rubber compound to get a new product and expand the market possiblity. As their main raw material is rubber compound and it is large block and sticky, and also it will need to be mixed with PP pellets, so considering these factors,I suggest them to use the kneader for letting the raw material to be completely mixed, heated and melted.

The whole line is configured with a 5L kneader, a conveyor, a twin screw force feeder and a GS35 twin screw extruder with water strand pelletizer system. This line can reach an output capacity of 30-50kg per hour, which is suitable and enough for a customer who wants a lab scale for market research.

During the manufacturing process, first we set the kneader’s temperature and time, and then directly put the rubber compound and pp pellets into the kneader according to the formula. As PP is with a high melt point, so the temperature will reach about 160-200 degree. And then we will get a good melted mixture fluffy like dough which means we are sucessful. This step is super crucial during the whole production process. If the raw material can not be melted and mixed compeletely in the first step, then will not get a good and finished pellets.

Then the mixture will be transfered to the twin screw extruder from the conveyor and twin screw force feeder. It is also feasible to use a single screw extruder to substitute twin screw extruder here. The advantage of twin screw extruder is to get the mixture mixed and plasticized twice. We GS-mach usually has five kinds of pelletizing system, which is water strand pelletizing system, air cooling hot cutting pelletizing sytem, water ring cutting system, air cooling strand cutting system and underwater pelletizing system. As the mixture is very sticky and client wants to invest less in this machine, so we decide to use water strand pelletizing system and get good finished pellets sucessfully.

Of course during the manufacturing process, we faced some problems but we overcomed it with our technicians’ help and by adjusting the formula.
